A new arrival

Well, here he is. I think the name we are sticking with is Elias. Born 4:10 this morning, 7 pounds 3 oz and 19.5 inches tall. We made it just in time to the hospital. When we were leaving home this morning Jill’s contractions went from 5 min apart to right on top of each other with nothing in between. At the time, Jill was in the tub relaxing when Jonas decided to wake up and started demanding attention. He insisted on joining Jill in the tub which lasted about 10 minutes when Jill said it was time. Lucky for me, Jonas was also hungry so I scrambled to find something that he would like at 2:30 in the morning (thank you cup o’ noodles). After I fed Jonas, I had to load up all the stuff in the car to go to the hospital which included Jonas and Jill which by now was considering calling 911 and having the baby at the house. We dropped Jonas at Nate and Mindy’s house and rushed to the hospital where we barely made it. We were in the check in room for about 15 min, the nurse checking Jill told us that the only thing holding the baby back was her water which had not yet broken. The funny thing is that Jill was saying on the way to the hospital that she was going to want an epidural. Yeah right, because soon after her water broke the baby was out in about 10 minutes. I got to catch.

Goblin Valley

Watching Jonas run around Goblin valley was so much fun. He is turning into such a little outdoor adventurer. He hiked up Little Wild Horse canyon and back on all his own. We had invited some friends to come with us. The best part of the trip was that we loaned them our new 6 person marmot tent. We set it up and our friends filled it full with all of their gear. We left to play in Goblin Valley and when we got back the tent ($600 retail value, don't worry, we pro dealed it) was completely gone including all their stuff. After blaming and cursing a bunch of trashy looking atvers we had seen earlier, I remembered the huge wind storm that had passed through. So I decided to look over a small hill. Sure enough, there it was with a on pole broken, another bent, and the rain-fly completely shredded. Well, nonetheless, it was a great trip and the whole incident made for a great story.

Easter

The Easter bunny came in big for Jonas this year. Our neighbors set-up a huge easter egg hunt at the park next to our house. The kids where so excited they did not let the slight drizzle bother them at all. At least it was not the six inches of snow we got a couple days later. And I thought it was April?

I need to get this kid a WII. He would deffinately knock everyone out in the boxing game. The best part is when Jonas breifly starts singing the Transformers theme song.

Its a boy

We are excited to announce its a boy. Jill has said that he is very active especially at night. Last night if felt him kick several times. Not bad for a kid that is not even a pound yet.

Mr. Incredible

Walking in California Adventure, we saw Mr. Incredible walking towards us. Jonas did not know what to make of it at first but we where easily able to take a snap shot. In my opinion, the Mr. Incredible in the picture is the little guy wearing sunglasses and the Mickey suit.

Goth Jill

So Jill was getting a little bored with life and decided to try a goth life style. It was a real annoying time because on dates she kept making me cover up my beautiful brown skin and put on white powder makeup so we could match.
