Old Westbury

Old Westbury belongs to some Phipps family whose Grandfather was the childhood friend and Business partner to Andrew Carnegie (Very rich people). The home sits on 164 acres (or something like that) and has some beautiful gardens. Jill loved it because it reminded her of 'Pride and Prejudice'. I was more than happy to oblige her and played the role Mr. Darcy. Happy to say, I was able to woo her in the main garden all over again while I kept yelling at Jonas to stop throwing rocks at the fish in the garden pond and Eli, clinging to me, kept crying because he was overly tired and hot.

Here are some pictures of our day at Old Westbury.

Eli's is 1 today!

Eli is 1 today. Still can't believe it. Jill threw a little party. I wish all could have been here in NY to join the fun, but since we are two time zones away, I hope you enjoy these videos instead.

Notice on one of the videos Eli is actually trying to blow out his little candle.

If you look, you can see Eli blowing and if you listen to Jonas he is wishing for Legos and a helicopter on Elis birthday cupcake.

This is a new toy Eli got. He did not want to put it down and started pulling it around the house. He went from the living room, to the bathroom, to our bedroom, Jonas' room , the kitchen and back to the living room.

Day at the Beach

There are two different kinds of beachs on Long Island. Here Eli is eating sand on a beach along the North Shore.

This is a beach along the South Shore. Way more sandy beaches. The South shore faces the Atlantic ocean and the North shore faces the Long Island Sound.

Hello from NY

OK, it has been a very long time since our last post but here they come. To start this is our house. It is a little brick house. Funny that. In fact, the neighborhood we live in is called the bricks. All the homes are made of brick. . . . The scary thing is that this house has a lot of similarities to our old house in Provo. Jonas is mowing the lawn in the picture.

Here is Eli playing out front.

Last week we went into NYC. Our fist place to visit was the Natural History Museum. Being at the Museum made me think of Nate Hales The Dinosaurs Night Before Christmas.

Poor Eli

I sure hope this does not confuse Eli. People want to dress up our boys like girls starting with Jonas. Well, I think he makes a better looking boy than a girl but you go ahead and decide.
